These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the HS Code Classifier application ("the App") provided by Jstars Holdings Inc. ("we", "us", "our"). By installing or using the App, you agree to these Terms.
HS Code Classifier is an AI-powered tool that suggests Harmonized System (HS) tariff classification codes for your Shopify products. The App analyzes product information and provides suggested 10-digit Canadian HS codes using artificial intelligence.
HS codes generated by this App are AI-powered suggestions only and are NOT guaranteed to be accurate or complete.
Jstars Holdings Inc. is not a licensed customs broker, trade compliance consultancy, or legal services provider. The App does not provide legal advice, customs brokerage services, or binding tariff rulings. Use of the App does not create a professional-client relationship.

All paid subscriptions are billed through Shopify's billing system. You can cancel at any time from your Shopify admin. Refunds are subject to Shopify's refund policies for app charges.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, JSTARS HOLDINGS INC. SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO: CUSTOMS PENALTIES, DUTY REASSESSMENTS, SHIPMENT DELAYS, LOST PROFITS, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR RELIANCE ON THE APP'S CLASSIFICATION SUGGESTIONS.
Our total liability for any claim arising from the App shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
The App, including its design, code, and AI classification methodology, is the property of Jstars Holdings Inc. HS code classifications generated for your products are yours to use as you see fit, subject to the disclaimer in Section 2.
Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy. Product data is sent to a third-party AI service (Anthropic) for classification processing. We do not store your product data beyond active sessions.
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the App at any time. We will provide reasonable notice for significant changes. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service availability.
You may terminate your use of the App at any time by uninstalling it from your Shopify store. We may terminate or suspend your access if you violate these Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia, Canada. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of British Columbia, Canada.
All tariff rates, duty calculations, and trade compliance information provided by Jstars HS Classifier are for informational and planning purposes only. This information does not constitute legal, customs, or trade compliance advice.
Tariff rates, HS codes, HTS codes, and duty rates change frequently due to legislative, regulatory, judicial, and executive actions. While we make reasonable efforts to keep rate information current, Jstars Holdings Inc. makes no representation or warranty, express or implied, that: (a) rates displayed are accurate, complete, or current; (b) classifications generated are correct or will be accepted by customs authorities; (c) duty calculations reflect actual amounts assessed at the border; (d) information complies with the laws of any particular jurisdiction.
The Service is not a substitute for advice from a licensed customs broker, trade attorney, or qualified compliance professional. For any import or export transaction, you should verify all HS codes and duty rates with a licensed customs broker before filing, and consult a trade attorney for complex classification or compliance questions.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, Jstars Holdings Inc. shall not be liable for any: customs penalties, fines, or assessments resulting from incorrect HS code classification; additional duties, taxes, or tariffs assessed beyond amounts estimated by the Service; shipment delays, seizures, or rejections resulting from classification errors; business losses, lost profits, or consequential damages arising from reliance on tariff rate information; or losses resulting from tariff rate changes that occur after rates were displayed.
HS code classifications generated by the Service use artificial intelligence and are subject to error. Confidence scores indicate the AI model's estimated certainty but do not guarantee correctness. Classifications should be treated as starting points for review, not final determinations.
We update tariff rates when changes are identified through monitoring of official government sources. However, given the frequency of tariff changes in the current trade environment, there may be a delay between when rates change and when the Service reflects those changes. You are responsible for verifying that rates reflect current regulations before making business decisions.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
